Cheque, whose real name is Akanbi Bamidele Brett, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter. Cheque rose to prominence with the release of his chart-topping single “Zoom” in 2020. Cheque was born on the 23rd of March 1995.

Cheque earned a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Osun State’s Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU).

Cheque began his career as a musician under the moniker Kyle-B. He balanced his education and music career, but relocated to Lagos upon graduation to pursue his music career.

Cheque got signed to Pent Houze Records in February 2019, which is owned by prominent Nigerian rapper Phyno.
